This year, 50 pairs of daddy-child benefited from the Me And My Daddy Camp that took place at Eagleranch Resort, Port Dickson on the 6th and the 7th of July. The camp has created a perfect opportunity for daddys to get to know their child hence bridging the parent-child gap.

Daddys and children were kept busy with activities such as Treasure Hunt, Night Jungle Trekking and Obstacle Courses that encouraged them to work along each other. It was a heartening sight to see how the children attempt to be an assistant to the fathers and the fathers caring for their children in ways they never did before.

Family ties: The camp presents an
opportunity for parents to know their
children better.
Bonding: Father-child teams hard
at work during the camp.

The fathers were equipped with the 3Ps at the camp; to protect, provide and process which will help them see their way through parenthood. The capstone of the event was for Daddy and child to express their hope for each other. Shortly after the camp, a father has dropped his smoking habit after finding out that it was his son’s very greatest desire.

It has been an enriching experience for volunteers to witness the bonding and fathers have come to realize that their children indeed grow very quickly. We are looking forward to the next Me And My Daddy camp happening in July 2010 and we hope to see you there!
